OFFSHORE SYSTEMS WINS ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD
NMEA 2000 Marine Tank Monitoring System Honored at IBEX 2007
IRVINE, CA. (October 22, 2007) – Each year, the world’s leading OEMs gather at the International Boatbuilders’ Exposition (IBEX) for a preview of cutting-edge products and technology. At the center of the exposition is the National Marine Manufacturers Association’s (NMMA) prestigious Innovation Award Program. Conducted by members of Boating Writers International Inc., IBEX Innovation Awards acknowledge the importance of technological advancement and encourage manufacturers to continue pursuing consumer-targeted new product development. In addition to individual awards for nine product categories, the distinctive Environmental Award is presented to one product that directly benefits the environment. This year’s IBEX Environmental Award was presented to OCEAN EQUIPMENT for the Offshore Systems Deck Filler Gauge, a simple solution that allows tanks to be filled to the top without the risk of overboard fuel spills. Offshore Systems won out over a near–record 79 new products entered at IBEX. “The price of this product is a small cost compared to the potential $5,000 fine a boater faces for spilling fuel into the water,” states Roger Marshall, president of BWI. “Offshore Systems’ marine tank monitoring system eliminates unnecessary spillage and does double-duty protecting boaters from environmental fines while at the same time preserving the pristine environments in which we all hope to go boating,” Marshall adds.

Offshore Systems’ 3210-F NMEA2000® Fuel Deck Filler Gauge enables the boat owner to see a digital indication of the tank level right at the point of filling, eliminating spills and maximizing the boat’s range. The fuel level is displayed on a light-sensitive blue LED display set into the deck filler surround and provides a clear indication of the level of the fuel in the tank at all times. Uniquely accurate displaying to 1%, the system is certified to the NMEA2000 network standard. Simple to install, the display utilizes a single plug with no additional wiring necessary. The Offshore Systems Deck Filler Gauge can be supplied with a Fuel Level Sender that has a +/- 2% accuracy and can be expanded to include a NMEA2000 Multi Tank Display that can receive data from up to sixteen senders and displays four simultaneously.
