OCEAN EQUIPMENT is a Sales, Marketing and Distribution company with Manufacturing, Design and Engineering capabilities. We export the products we manufacturer to distributors world-wide mostly in the boating Industry. We import products from boating accessory companies who are looking to expand their business in North America and can utilize our warehousing, logistics and distribution capabilities. We own and operate out of our 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Irvine California. We have built our business around a core business strategy. Build solid products and treat our customers with the utmost respect they deserve. We have developed very long standing relationships with both customers and suppliers. We are celebrating our 20th year in business.

Manufacturing, Design & Engineering

We are the manufacturers of NavPod. We started building NavPod in 1991 as a way to mount basic sailing instruments onboard for Catalina Yachts. Then bigger and better LCD’s used for navigation exploded on the market for the next two decades. Today, we are standard equipment on all major sailboat builders world-wide. We provide all of the major Marine Electronics manufacturers a way to mount their products on boats. PowerPods were later developed for mounting of Radar, Chartplotter or Fishfinders on Powerboats. NavPods provide a clean, sturdy and secure way to mount Electronics. NavPod is recognized for its quality. We have developed 250 dealers in the North America and distribute to over 25 countries world-wide.

HoseCoil is comprised of a range of HoseCoil hoses, spray nozzles, and enclosures. We developed a range of vacuum formed housings to make the HoseCoil hoses an integral part of the cockpit on boats that would like an onboard washdown system. They are very popular with boat builders and dealers. The full range of HoseCoil products are available at most boating retail stores. With the growth of our HoseCoil Washdown Systems, we have moved most of our production overseas. We distribute throughout North America and Europe.

DrinX is a thermal insulation insert that is designed to be fitted in the cup holder ready to handle the next cold beverage. Standard cup holders that are installed on almost every boat are unsightly and \ not insulated. The choice of attractive colors enhances the look of the boat while keeping beverages cold. Many years of drinking and boating experience were combined to create this product. We have received a US patent for the DrinX Insulated Cup Holder System.

Exclusive Distribution

We partner with overseas companies that are interested in expanding their business in North America who can utilize the distribution channels we have established. We now import products from the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, New Zealand, Norway, China and Taiwan.

We were appointed the exclusive distributor for North America in 2010. They offer a wide range of performance sailing instruments, autopilots and compasses. Nexus is manufactured in Sweden. The company was purchased in 2008 by Richard Macalister and sailing legend Dean Barker. Dean was Skipper of Team New Zealand in the Americas Cup. This new product line was a welcome addition. Nexus is recognized for its reliability and wide range of products. There is the NX, NX2 and NXR series of instruments to accommodate all types of sailing yachts.

New for 2011. We are introducing this newly developed RailBlaza product line. It is a unique system of holding things down on board boats. From dive bottles to drink holders, fishing rods to filet tables, Railblaza holds it. Designed and developed by Ross Pratt, formally Owner and Managing Director of BEP marine in New Zealand. He has a proven track record for developing products. Railblaza’s extensive product offering will appeal to all types of boats. Railbalza has something for Kayaks, inflatables and ocean sailing yachts.

A Norwegian company who has developed a unique tri-color LED and an all around 360 degree white light that can easily attach with built in magnetic mounting system. Navisafe has just received US Coast Guard approval for the 360 degree All White Light.
